Meet the Sugar Land Team Behind Vance Gate Repair Sugar Land

We’re a local crew, not a rotating cast of subcontractors. The technicians who show up at your Sugar Land property are people Adrian Vance has trained, vetted, and worked beside since the early days. Some came from commercial access-control backgrounds. Others started as apprentices carrying tool bags through First Colony and Telfair and worked their way up. What unites us is simple: we document what we find, we write the price before we touch anything, and we stand behind the work for a full year. You’ll get a name and a photo before anyone arrives.

Our People

Marcus T. – Lead Technician

Marcus has been with Vance Gate Repair since 2016, which makes him the longest-serving technician on the Sugar Land team. He came up through commercial gate automation, so when a swing-gate operator in Riverstone starts faulting at odd hours, he’s the one who traces it to a limit switch or a capacitor without guessing. Marcus is certified on LiftMaster and FAAC systems and handles most of the hydraulic operator rebuilds that other companies in the area won’t touch. He keeps a printed torque spec sheet in his truck because, as he puts it, “memory is for directions, not settings.” When he’s not under a gate, he’s rebuilding a 1987 Buick Grand National in his garage off Highway 6.

Daniel R. – Senior Installer

Daniel joined in 2018 after eight years in residential fence and ornamental iron work, and that background shows in how he approaches a new gate install. He’s the one who catches a post that’s three inches out of plumb before the concrete sets, and he’s installed everything from lightweight aluminum driveway gates in Greatwood to heavy wrought-iron entry gates in Sugar Creek. Daniel holds welding certifications and does most of the on-site fabrication when a gate needs a custom bracket or a hinge rebuild rather than a part swap. He’s the kind of installer who levels the gate twice after the hinges are torqued, just to be sure. Outside of work, he coaches his daughter’s softball team and talks about it with the same precision he applies to steel.

Lena P. – Service Coordinator

If you call at 2 a.m. because a gate won’t close and your dog is making a run for it, Lena is likely the voice on the other end. She’s been answering those calls since 2019 and knows the company’s technician schedules, part inventories, and the difference between a genuine emergency and a morning call better than anyone. Lena dispatches every job with a technician name and photo sent to the customer before arrival, and she manages the documentation trail that follows each visit. Before a technician leaves your property, Lena has already logged the work order and the photo record into the job file. She grew up in Sugar Land and can tell you which neighborhoods have the most trouble with salt spray from the coast, which matters when we’re diagnosing corrosion on gate hinges near Oyster Creek.

Chris A. – Apprentice Technician

Chris rounds out the crew as the newest member, joining in 2023 after completing a two-year trade program in electrical systems. Adrian runs every apprentice through a supervised sequence: gate parts identification, safety-edge testing, photo-eye alignment, and only then does Chris touch an operator under Marcus’s direct oversight. He’s been steadily building his brand certifications and currently services Mighty Mule and Ghost Controls residential units on his own. Chris is the one who takes the photo log for many jobs, which suits him because he’s methodical to a fault. He’ll open a control box, photograph the wiring before it’s touched, and label each image by position on the board. People in Pecan Grove have started recognizing him because he’s on a lot of the new-install crews. When he’s not working, he’s playing bass in a band that’s still looking for a reliable drummer.
